Description

Paneer Butter Masala Dosa is a rich and indulgent twist on the classic South Indian dosa, inspired by the popular North Indian dish, Paneer Butter Masala. This delightful dish features a crispy dosa filled with a creamy, buttery paneer filling that is spiced to perfection. The combination of the crunchy dosa and the velvety, flavorful paneer filling makes for a satisfying meal that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the Dosa Batter:
    • Soak the rice and urad dal separately. Drain, then blend them into a smooth batter with water. Ferment the batter overnight in a warm place.
  2. Prepare the Paneer Butter Masala Filling:
    • In a pan, heat butter over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
    • Stir in ginger-garlic paste and cook until fragrant.
    • Add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil begins to separate.
    • Add coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for a few more minutes.
    • Add the cubed paneer and cream, mixing well to coat the paneer in the sauce. Allow to simmer for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh coriander.
  3. Cook the Paneer Butter Masala Dosa:
    • Heat a non-stick skillet or dosa pan over medium heat. Grease lightly with oil or ghee.
    • Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it into a thin circle. Drizzle oil around the edges and on top.
    • Cook until the bottom is golden brown, then place a portion of the paneer butter masala filling on one half of the dosa. Fold the other half over and press gently.
